Welcome Loves 💋👑
Introducing me as Noelle Amouré. If you took a moment to read Who is Noelle Amouré?, you already know I’ve always had a secret desire to become a writer and finally share my fantasies and stories. When I decided to take the leap, I didn’t know where to start, so I leaned into what I know best: research and planning.
I started thinking about what I wanted my first story to be about and of course passion and darkness came to mind. I imagined myself as the main protagonist and asked what would I do if this character were me. Soon the story began to tell itself as I wrote out my outline. Once I had that framework I gave it more flesh and detail by creating character profiles that grew to over ten pages long. It felt almost never-ending. With every re-read I would notice the smallest detail I didn’t like and change it. Even the tiniest things matter because I want my characters to feel real. I want them to be the person walking past you on the street, sitting next to you on the train, staring at you across the room, working beside you, holding you, kissing you, even breaking your heart. Life is messy and imperfect and I want that humanity in every page.
Finally I was ready to start writing. I bought Scrivener thinking it would be the magic tool for me but honestly Microsoft Word with Siri checking my spelling works better. So here I am months later with only five chapters. Five chapters that I have re-read, edited, and re-written so many times. Now I wonder if I should let someone read while I’m writing or if I should finish the draft first and then invite feedback. Do I trust outside eyes or only what flows best in my mind. I don’t know. It brings me anxiety and worry but also hope. I just want to get it right and I want people to feel something when they read it.
On the business side of being an author I set up my LLC, researched and started the copyright and trademark process, launched my Instagram to connect with other writers and editors, and still need to open a separate bank account for the business. What can I say, I like to be organized ✨
This journey is equal parts scary and exciting, but I’m learning as I go. If you’ve been through this or have advice, I’m all ears. Until then I’ll keep writing, keep planning, and keep sharing every step with you, my Loves 🌹
